This gene encodes a glycoprotein involved in the regulation of the complement cascade. Binding of the encoded protein to complement proteins accelerates their decay, thereby disrupting the cascade and preventing damage to host cells. Antigens present on this protein constitute the Cromer blood group system (CROM). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. Flow cytometry:1X10^6 SH-SY5Y cells (negative control, left) and K-562 cells (right) were surface-stained with ABflo® 488 Rabbit anti-Human CD55 mAb(A21942, 5 μl/Test, orange line) or ABflo® 488 Rabbit IgG isotype control (A22069, 5 μl/Test, blue line). Non-fluorescently stained cells were used as blank control (red line).
Flow cytometry:1X10^6 SH-SY5Y cells (negative control, left) and Human PBMC (right) were surface-stained with ABflo® 488 Rabbit anti-Human CD55 mAb(A21942, 5 μl/Test, orange line) or ABflo® 488 Rabbit IgG isotype control (A22069, 5 μl/Test, blue line).
